A "home away from home"
In July of 1992, the Ronald McDonald House ® opened its doors in Bismarck - and the community opened its heart - to care for the families of seriously ill children receiving medical treatment in Bismarck and Mandan. More than a place to stay, the House provides comfort and care for families when they need it most.
While the child receives medical care in one of our area hospitals and clinics, the House offers respite from hospital waiting rooms. Families find shoulders to cry on - other families experiencing the same hopes and fears. They find caring staff and volunteers. They find a safe, welcoming place to call home while they are far away from family and friends.
This is the house that provides the home,
that cooks the meals,
that sleeps the people,
that dries the tears.
This is "the house that love built®."

"Delivering Hope on Wheels"
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, a mobile dental clinic on wheels, delivers urgently needed dental care to underserved children ages 0 through 21 in their neighborhoods in the western half of North Dakota. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Bismarck owns and operates the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile of North Dakota. We have partnered with Bridging the Dental Gap, Inc. of Bismarck, a non-profit dental clinic, to establish the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program. We strive to deliver our services in an atmosphere of kindness, compassion, caring and respect.
Why a Mobile Dental Program?
One of the greatest unmet needs of low-income families is dental care. More than one-half of North Dakota children have had tooth decay and more than one in five children have untreated tooth decay. The existing dental safety net clinics cannot meet all of the current needs in North Dakota. Untreated dental problems can result in pain and infection, create difficulty chewing and eating, and interfere with concentration and learning. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is a 40-foot long state-of-the-art mobile dental clinic with a dentist, dental hygienists, and dental assistant. The mobile clinic staff deliver dental care to underserved children in their own neighborhoods.

When you "round up" your purchase at any McDonalds, you are supporting RMHC. RMHC Bismarck receives direct donations from the following McDonald's stores.
Thank you to McDonald's, our "founding and forever" partner!
Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Staff
Did you know that rounding up your purchase at McDonalds benefits local RMHC Chapters? The stores that directly support the RMHC Bismarck chapter are as follows. All McDonald's stores in Bismarck, Mandan, Dickinson, Minot, and Williston! In addition, the owner-operators of these stores provide generous support to different events and fundraisers we have throughout the year!
This program started in 1992 when the house was built. More information coming soon on the relaunch of our adopt a room program!
Do you want to help kids who need dental care? We are looking for 12 donors to support the care mobile operation for 1 month each year. More information to come!
Throughout the year, groups ranging in size from 2-8 will come and prepare meals for our families. We suggest the entree be something we can freeze and reheat. Salads and baked goods are also very popular. We have a full kitchen with everything you need to prepare the meal. Most groups shop for the food and ingredients and bring the food to prepare. This is a great team-building exercise for businesses and student groups.
Volunteer evening shifts are available from 5 pm to 9 pm Monday through Sunday. The house is generally quiet as families are resting and returning from the hospital. Volunteers are on hand to provide support and assist the families if needed. You can bring a book or do homework in your downtime. Call the house at 701-258-8551 to learn more or stop by for a tour!
We occasionally need volunteers for special projects and events, and will post these opportunities on our Facebook Page.
The Bismarck RMHC Chapter is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. If you are interested in being a Board Member contact Executive Director Brent Kleinjan at brent@rmhcbismarck.org or 701-471-0348.
Separate from our board, we have a Care Mobile Advisory Committee that meets quarterly. If you are interested in joining the advisory committee contact Celeste Espeseth celeste@rmhcbismarck.org
